How to Use LED Light Therapy in Your Skincare Journey and Routine ( Red Light Therapy Mask and Treatments)
Suddenly red light therapy and other forms of LED light therapy have taken over our social media and lifestyle. I remember when I first heard about red light therapy it was because Planet Fitness had it in their massage and recovery room. Now I’m hearing that Paris Hilton swears its extending her dogs lifespan and influencers are joking about looking like Iron Man.
Its cute, trendy and most importantly it works. LED stands for ligtht- emitting diode. its used to increase skin circulation, improve collagen in the skin and reduce acne. Its non invasive, doesn’t involve heat as in comparison to laser treatments like IPL. Instead it releases light onto the skin to stimulate a response
Red - increases collagen production and stimulates wound healing
Blue - reduces bacteria sitting on the skin, improves acne
Green - Lessens Hyperpigmentation and redness, calms and soothes the skin
Yellow - Detoxes the skin by improving lymphatic flow, increase circulation in the skin
For red light therapy you want to stay at 630–660 nm to target skin concerns. This one is 900 plus so it more so targets muscle. I personally use these two light therpahy machines at home and in the treatment room

Using your light therapy device can be done after cleansing the skin and applying serums. In the treatment room I do this for 10-20 minutes depending on my clients skin concerns and at home at least 3 times a week for the best results.
It is possible to use too much so being mindful to not exceed the recommend time frame on your device is encouraged because overuse can lead to hyperpigmentation and overall irritation to the eyes. Avoid using red light therapy in the thyroid area because this technique is know to be used in clients with hypothyroidism .
