VeleaRae Studio Acne Bootcamp - How I Clear Acne in The Treatment Room
Acne is not a one size fits all. A throughout consultation, proper home care and a total of 10 treatments spread out across 6 months is my acne bootcamp program. It consist of your consultations, 2 facial treatments and a chemical peel series of 4-6 treatments 1 week apart.
Your first treatment we discuss your skin concerns, skin type and Fitzpatrick. This will be the base of out treatment plan in the studio and at a home. For example the rest of this blog post would be for someone with combination, oily skin that is acne prone, grade 2 acne and a 4 fitspatrick.
Because of the Fitzpatrick we want to focus on not causing PIH which is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. This is an overproduction of melanin that comes from trauma like picking at the skin, scars or sun damage. Because of this we want to be super careful of the products while effectively treating the skin.
AT HOME CARE
At home I like to focus in repairing the skin to get it in its healthiest and strongest state to prep it for the treatments at VeleaRae Studio. Since the skin in this Fitzpatrick I am going to be very cautious of doing too much too fast. This starts with the base cleanser. For oily skin types I like the green tea citrus cleanser. This is acid and active free cleanser that gently cleanses the skin and provide an antioxidant boost so its going to give the skin the glow look that we love that looks clean and hydrated because antioxidants improve circulation in the skin.
The second cleanser is an active cleanser to address acne. Two cleansers may seem like an overkill but this helps us move slow but steady and adress the acne while keeping the skin barrier in tact. When we use acids like glycolic, salicylic , lactic Mandelic it can put our skin at risk or over exfoliation. I may also suggest the exfoliating wipes as an alternative depending on lifestyle factors and other services being done. For example if you get waxing services like Brazilians or underarms the wipes may be better. Or if you go to the gym or travel often.
The Mint refining toner is a antibacterial spray that hydrates and treats the skin. It will also help cool the skin if any breakouts are larger and inflamed
I love including a spot treatment for my acne prone clients to treat the existing acne and any that may occur on the face as we undergo treatment. Because we are speeding up cell turn over rate the acne sitting underneath the skin gets puled up to the surface faster that it can naturally.
I love the light aloe moistrizer because aloe is used to calm the skin and this cleanser is non comodogenetic meaning it wont clog the pores which is ideal for acne prone skin. We want to lock in the moisture while not clogging the pores
SPF is one of the most important parts of this process because we are using actives in the routine that can make the skin burn easier. Wearing SPF is the only way to combate dark spots/hyperpigmentation as well which is common with people that are in the 4 Fitzpatrick scale.

TREATMENTS
In the treatment room we will do a series of enzyme exfolaints, exctraction, LED Light Therapy, High Frequency and chemical peels. The VeleaRae Skin approach mainly uses fruit enzymes to treat the skin. This is because they are gentle, and are breaking down dead skin cell proteins, which helps to unclog pores, reduce acne-causing oil buildup, and calm inflammation without damaging the skin barrier.

I introduce chemical peels because I want the dark spots on the skin to lighten, unclog the pores, reduce inflammation and help with oil control so when your skin is ready after using consistent homecare but most importantly SUNSCREEN we can get you started on a 4-6 week series of peels
Throughout the treatments I love using high frequency and LED Light Therapy to address bacteria, inflammation and increasing oxygen in the skin. This is essential after extractions to calm down the skin and promote healthy healing.
Depending on home care and frequent of treatments there will be a noticeable difference in your acne in 4-6 months. I also strongly suggest to get blood work and allergy test to see if you are deficient in any vitamins or minerals because this too will have an effect on the skin.
